The following is not an exhaustive list of all resources available in Columbia. Instead, it contains a simplified and direct list of local services someone with nothing in their possession might need within the next 24 hours of their lives.

Food

St. Francis Men's House

St. Francis House provides showers and laundry facilities at no charge to our overnight and drop-in guests, as well as clothing, food boxes, and hospitality for persons in need when we have donations available. We have a telephone available for guests to make local calls.  

Salvation Army Harbor House

Shelter and food provided with ID. Lunch is served daily 12pm – 1pm.

Mobile Soup Kitchen

PROVIDED BY COMAC

We serve a hot lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays (and Fridays in Winter) from our vehicles.

Loaves & Fishes

Loaves & Fishes offers a free meal for the hungry each evening from 5:00- 6:15 p.m.

Boone County Blessing Boxes

Information and locations of all blessing boxes/free little pantries in the Mid-Missouri area.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Café

Free breakfast served every Saturday, 8am - 9am, at travelling locations.

Food Not Bombs

Food Not Bombs is an all-volunteer movement that recovers food that would otherwise be discarded, and shares free vegan and vegetarian meals with the hungry.

Through the delivery of compassionate, quality care, we help people find their way along a path to better physical and emotional health.

Medzou Community Health Clinic

MedZou Community Health Clinic is a faculty-sponsored medical clinic that provides free primary health care, education and prevention.

Med Clinic

PROVIDED BY COMAC

CoMo Mobile Aid Collective offers a free medical clinic during dinner at Loaves and Fishes inside Wilkes Methodist Church from 5p to 6p on Mondays and Thursdays.

Mental Health

Integrative Behavioral Health Clinic

The Integrative Behavioral Health Clinic (IBHC) is a student-facilitated clinic located at the Family Impact Center (FIC). Our mission is to address disparities in the availability of comprehensive mental health care for people who are uninsured or unable to afford healthcare in order to improve quality of life, reduce distressing symptoms, and increase access.

Burrell Behavioral Health

The Rapid Access Unit is a Walk-in Crisis Center and access point for individuals in need of immediate psychiatric care, Medication-Assisted Treatment for opioid use, psychiatric assessment, initial assessment eligibility determination, brief therapy, peer support services, up to 23-hour observation, referral to appropriate follow up treatment and more. This is an 18-and-up facility.

CenterPointe Hospital

CenterPointe of Columbia offers a full continuum of care for individuals 18+ who are struggling with mental health & substance abuse issues. Available for adults and youth.

New Horizons Mental Illness

We provide people with support so they can learn to manage the impact that mental illness has on their daily life.

Shelter & Housing

Lois Bryant Women's House

The Lois Bryant House opens the same hours as the St. Francis House and offers all of the same services except a meal. We care for 3 long-term guests at a time and keep one couch open for emergencies as it is common for women to need to escape abusive or dangerous situations.

Warming and Cooling Centers

City of Columbia Warming and Cooling Centers are available to the general public during the building’s normal business hours. The public is allowed access to public areas, such as lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, etc.

Temporary Overnight Warming Center

In the event of a National Weather Service forecast for temperatures 25 degrees Fahrenheit or below, the City of Columbia will open a temporary overnight warming shelter at Wilkes Boulevard Church.
